My Coach, My Friend π

It's been 40+ years since I proudly wore #12 as a Cougar. I didn't know that my relationship with Coach Pete was just beginning over that period our relationship he's grown in a true friendship that can never be replaced. We talk and text frequently about life stuff regularly. He always still offers encouragement and praise, guidance and positivity. I miss you, Coach! Thank you for always believing in me and guiding me with your wisdom and knowledge!,ππ―

Courageous Role Model

I have so much respect and love for both Bruce and Carol. I knew them from my last 5 years on the Asheville Sports Commission. Bruce was one of the Founding Members who brought the SoCon Basketball Tournament back to Asheville. My memory goes back to last year when I was diagnosed with a squamous cell tumor on my forehead. It was traumatic and required very serious surgery. By chance, Bruce and I both were patients at the same dermatology clinic. So I saw him on the days we both had appointments; always with Carol at his side. I was totally freaked out about my diagnosis and surgery, but I know that Bruce was dealing with a more serious cancer issue. He was calm and smiling, always willing to listen to me and give me sage advice. He was so courageous and stoic. He will always be a role model for me as the classic example of "Grace under Pressure!" Rest in Peace Bruce!

Courageous Role Model

I was deeply saddened to hear about Bruceβs death. He was a lot of things to many people and his contributions to our community were tremendous. My first political reception was hosted by Carol. They were strong supporters of mine during my 16 years in county politics as I became a strong supporter of hers. Due to health issues I am experiencing I am sorry I wonβt be able to attend his service.
