A real shock.......

I've known Wyatt for many of the years I've been in North Carolina...I assume we had a case years ago, but our first meeting is lost in antiquity. Whenever I had a question about Asheville, I'd send him an email, and he always responded promptly and thoughtfully. He even suggested the restaurants our guests should try when Andrea and I got married in 2009...and he nailed them. It was always a real pleasure to talk to him...he was such a genuinely friendly guy. It was a real shock when I read his notice in the NC Bar magazine. We had had a video hearing back in June of 2023, and he looked and sounded good. He subsequently sent me an email thanking me for the way I handled the matter, and saying that I was on his list of great lawyers and great people. That meant a lot to me then, and it means even more to me now. I was blessed to have known him and had our few interactions over the years. I wish his family peace and good memories.

Wyatt took my 40-Hour NCDRC Superior Court Mediation Training in October 2023 while he was undergoing brain cancer treatments. He made or made-up every class, aced his final exam and would have made a stellar NCDRC Superior Court Certified Mediator. He was already a natural mediator. Kim - what an amazing soul he was. I can't believe he took time at the end of his life to take this master's level 10 day course. I will never forget him. Most warmly, Ellen R. Gelbin
