William Bernice Womble

William Bernice Womble, 78, of Arden, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Horton E. and Sarah Stutts Womble and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Womble Phillips.
William was a member of Arden First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Bertha Geraldine Sprouse Womble; two sons, Ronald Wayne Womble and his wife, Karen of Arden and George Edward Womble and his wife, Lynn of Fletcher; a daughter, Sylvia W. Jacques and her husband Jay of Mtn. Home, ID; three sisters, Doris Womack, Merle Womble and Juanita Web-ster, all of Sanford, NC; four grandchildren, Billy and Josh Phillips, Heather McHone and Ronnie Womble and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
Burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
