WALTER F. SCHROEDER
ETOWAH – Walter F. Schroeder, 86, died Monday, March 28, 2011.
Born in Englewood, NJ, he was raised as a child in Fort Lee, NJ, and raised his family in Emerson, NJ. He worked for 35 years with Levy's Sporting Goods in West New York, NJ and moved to Etowah in 1991. He was a big sports fan of the New York Giants, the Yankees and the Rangers. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard.
He is survived by his wife, Janice C. Schroeder, a daughter, Laurie, sons, Jim, John and Danny, and grandchildren, Katrina, Natasha, Cassandra and Rachel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Brevard.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Brian Berg Lane, Brevard, NC 28712.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, Asheville, is assisting with the arrangements.
