Vera Shirley Cooke Davidson, 81, of 845 Asbury Road, Candler, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Mecklenburg County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Clarkson Nathaniel and Vera Dean Cooke. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Electa Chapter. Mrs. Davidson is survived by her husband, Frank F. Davidson, Sr.; a daughter, Deana Warren and her husband Randy of Clover, SC; two sons, Clarkson Davidson and his wife Vicki of Candler and Frank F. Davidson, Jr. and his wife Karen of Salisbury; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene King officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801-2644; Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or Liberty Baptist Church, 875 Monte Vista Road, Candler, NC 28715.
