Timothy Leon “Tim” Hill, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Born in Denton, North Carolina, Tim was a graduate of Central Davidson High School where he developed his love for instrumental music. One of Tim’s proudest moments was marching in the Magic Kingdom parade with the Central Davidson High School Band. Tim followed that passion by attending Mars Hill University and the University of North Carolina Greensboro where he achieved his degree in Music.

After graduation, Tim set his sights on Orlando where he gained theme park experience at Sea World and Boardwalk & Baseball before beginning a 27-year career at Disney. While there, Tim pioneered Disney’s Youth Programs which paved the way for generations of student performers, artists and education groups to visit the resort. Tim was also a tremendous influence on the student travel industry and many company owners credit his impact on the success of that industry.

Biltmore was the final chapter in Tim’s professional career and in 2017 he joined the team as Director of Sales. Tim was an amazing leader, mentor and friend, and over the past nine year he built a dynamic team that soared due to his greatness.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, the late Leon and Kate Hill and by his beloved dog, Polo. Tim leaves behind his close family, Brian Harris and Summer Messick, and his chosen family, Terry Valentine, Marc Claycomb, Jeff Ralls, Omar Hatoum, and Paul Wortman. He is also held in the hearts of the many dear friends and colleagues who shared life with him over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Asheville High School’s Marching and Concert Band.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Omg, Tim and I had the pleasure of each other’s company for 2 of Central’s proms. He was a great guy and loved paying the trombone. I am sorry to learn of his passing.

  2. Tim and I spent many years together in band in high school and our friendship continued into our adult lives. He was one in a million and he brought so much joy into my life through the years. He will always hold a special place in my heart and NEVER be forgotten. ❤️

  3. Tim have known you for a long time. Fondly remember us marching down Main Street USA at Disney World in high school. Will always remember your smile and talent. You will be missed. Gone too soon.

  4. Such talent and a beautiful soul. I didn’t know about his life after high school, but it doesn’t surprise me he gave so much of himself in the service of helping educate the love of music, arts and performance in the youth programs. Rest easy Tim, you earned it.

  5. My heart is broken to see this. Tim was such a fine man and I loved seeing his posts of his home and hearing about the support he always gave to high schools.

  6. I had the privilege of working with Tim at SeaWorld. Boardwalk and Baseball (where we “split” a desk) and later at Disney. To simply call him a friend doesn’t begin to do justice to what he meant to me and my family. He knew my two daughters and had the joy of watching them grow up. The memories we shared over the years are ones that still bring smiles to all three of our faces.

Tim had a special light about him that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. While we will deeply miss his presence and the joy he brought into our lives, I can’t help but imagine that light shining just as brightly on the other side, with that familiar smile, knowing how many lives he touched along the way.

Tim, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for the memories, the friendship, and the light you brought into our lives. ❤️

  7. I first met Tim in 1993 when I became a Disney CastMember and thankfully have remained close to him as our career paths diverted and he returned to his beloved NC in such a critical role at The Biltmore. Tim’s good nature, creativity and passion for a broad variety of youth and sports programs resulted in the development of trailblazing initiatives that remain a core element of Disney’s product portfolio.

In addition to the legacy programs he developed at Disney, his last role at The Biltmore provided him with another meaningful opportunity to innovate and add tremendous value to both his company and the legions of guests who visited this world renowned property. He was incredibly fond of his colleagues and his employer and enjoyed this last role as much as he did the decades he spent at Disney.

Tim remains one of my most valued friends as I admired his integrity, good nature and the joy that surrounded his presence. Leaving us all way too early in a life with lots more runway, he left a huge legacy on those of us who knew and loved him. Rest in peace dear friend.

  8. My sincere condolences to Tim’s family. I worked with Tim over 30 years in different areas and the last few years as my Director at Disney before he left and moved back to North Carolina. I admired him greatly and will truly miss that Tim smile. Rest in peace and keep those Marching bands moving up in Heaven.

  9. Tim, was a one of a kind leader and memorable in so many ways. He gave me my first leadership role in 1998.

Two years ago, we met for breakfast and I had a chance to say thank you for investing in my career trajectory.

    Rest in peace.
