Thomas Walter Cunningham, 89, of Skyland, NC, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 after a slow decline in health. Tommy was predeceased by his parents Carl and Georgia Cunningham, brother James Cunningham and sister Helen McMahon.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Olivia Daniels Cunningham, who he lovingly cared for in the last chapter of his life; sons, Dean (Betsy) and Joel (Carmel); grandchildren, Justin (Emily), Mary (Bryan) and Anna (Robby); great grandchildren, Elena, Olivia, Wyatt, Robert, Connor, Daniel and Lillian and sister, Alene Lankford.
He had a 48-year career with Dave Steel as purchasing agent and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Tommy enjoyed hiking the mountains of Western North Carolina and watching sporting events. Tommy and Olivia loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada,
visiting at least 47 states.
