Shirley Capps Wallin

Shirley Ann Capps Wallin Asheville ? Shirley Ann Capps Wallin, 63, of Asheville, went home to be with her Lord Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of Mary Whitaker Capps of Hendersonville and the late William Edney Capps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Wallin, who passed away in 1998. She was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church and had retired from the Buncombe County Health Center in 2004. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Wallin is survived by one sister, Betty J. Capps of Hendersonville; four brothers, Ed Capps of Mountain Home, Henry Capps of Mountain Home, Jerry Capps of Hendersonville and John William Capps of Mills River and several nieces and nephews. Shirley?s family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown by devoted friends Vickie, Tammy, Sandi and Susan. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 16th, in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Rev. Leonard Cutshaw officiating. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
