Shirley Ann Gregory

Shirley Ann Gregory, 90, of Hendersonville, passed away on June 21, 2026. She loved the Lord, her family, and the Atlanta Braves, in that order. A native of Pfeifer, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dome and Veronica (Befort) Dome. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gregory, and daughter, Melissa Gregory, a brother, Vernon Dome, and two sisters; Ruby Karlin, and Arlene Karlin.

She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Kisner of Hays, Kansas, and Fran Hunter of Portland, Oregon, and three children; Lacreacia (Dean) Buff of Candler, Pam Gregory of Hendersonville, and James Gregory of Asheville; two grandsons, Michael Buff, and Wesley Gregory; a granddaughter, Holly Buff, and a great-grandson, Hayes Buff.

She was a former member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence, where she sang in the choir, was a docent, a lector, and an extraordinary Eucharistic minister. She later became a member of St. Barnabas parish after moving to Hendersonville.

A rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 at Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian location in Arden, with a visitation to follow until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Arden, followed by graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Church in Hendersonville for the construction of a primary school in the diocese of Huancané. Peru. Please note on your check’s memo line: Peru mission.
