Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are the parents of Christie Pickel. After Erin began having so many health issues, I remember so many times that ‘Shorty’ would bring food to Mark and Christie’s house. I think Shorty brought the homemade pound cake. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

  2. I will always remember the good times visiting with Uncle Buck and Aunt Shorty. She could make the best hush puppies and pound cake in the world!

  3. Her smile alone would warm your heart, she was a special lady with alot of special gifts, she will be missed.

  4. Tommy,George, Dale and families.
We are so saddened to lose our dear ‘Aunt Shorty’. She was so special to us. Her wit and humor was always dry and she enjoyed a good laugh. SOOOO many good memories growing up with you all. Take comfort in the knowledge that she is well, young again and with Uncle Buck, Mike and all her loved ones. Prayers and love to you all,
    Joan and Sandy

  5. To the family of Sarah Williams, I was greived to hear of Sarah’s passing. She was one of my remaining first cousins. My brother Emerson and I remember her fondly from our youth. Bruce, my husband, and I extend our deepest sympathy.

  6. Your mom made me laugh like very few people in this world had the ability to do. I always learned something from her whenever we were together whether it be cooking, crafting or life in general. She is at peace now and with your Dad, Mike and others she has longed to see again.

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers..we love you.

  7. What wonderful memories I have of Shorty. She made a beautiful skirt for me to take to college. And what a cook she was! Her pound cakes were always welcome. She and Buck always welcomed my daughter, Susan and her children. My grandchildren loved running around the yard picking flowers. Her sparkle will live with us forever.

  8. Buck and Shorty were Mother’s absolute best friends over the last 15+ years of her life. They took her to church every Sunday, to fold newsletters on Wednesday and anywhere else she needed to go. Also, there was always the poundcakes for any reason at all and sometimes for no reason. Everything they did was with love and good humor. Love to you all.

  9. Tommy, George, Dale and family,
It was sad to hear the news of Aunt Shorty, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Buck and Shorty were special people who helped shape my life, for which I am grateful. There is no doubt in my mind that each have now heard; ‘Well done my good and faithful servant.’ Please know that you all have mine and Kate’s heartfelt condolence.

  10. Tommy, George and Dale,

Barbara and I were sorry to hear from Boby that your mother had passed on. I used to enjoy my trips to see your folks when we were in Hickory to see Barbara’s parents. Her faith and spirit were an inspiration. We are blessed to have had her in our lives.

    In Christ’s love,

    Blake and Barbara
