I feel sorry for the Ashe family hearing about Ruth Enlow Ashe passing. Ruth Ashe was not born in Washington DC, I was. She was born in North Carolina. She had the same Mother as I, Viola Campbell. My Father Vollmer Campbell supported Ruth from age 5 to 17 before she married Alan Ashe. Without my support financially and with all the home improvements I have done the past 18 years for Ruth and Alan. They would not have lived last where they did.. That is the thanks I get from Ruth and Alan’s son and daughter for not acknowledging me as Ruth half Brother.
I remember when we had our sons 9 months apart. Good times when we played bridge and our husbands beat us most of the time. When Ruth and I were trying to potty train Mike.
Gary I want you to know that I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. I only knew her a short time and in that time I seen the bond you and her had. She was a very sweet woman with the biggest eyes and sweetest smile. I am going to miss visiting and spending time with her during the day. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.
