Fletcher – Ruth Bumgarner Grayson, 80, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
Mrs. Grayson was born in Jackson County, NC and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Timmie Webster Bumgarner. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Grayson and a brother, John Henry Bumgarner Jr.
Mrs. Grayson was employed with K-Mart for over 27 years and was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont, NC.
She is survived by two daughters; Rhonda Culler of Charlotte and Karen Allison and her husband Robert of Fairview, NC; four grandchildren, Ron and Rodney Prince of Charlotte and Sommer Buchanan and Ryan Allison of Asheville.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00pm Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC with the Reverends Ryan Allison, Bobby Tallent and Mike Culler officiating.

Dear Karen and family,
I just wanted to let you all know that I really enjoyed being able to spend time with Ms. Grayson while she was getting support from the Council on Aging. She was quite a pistol and I really had a good time chatting with her during my visits out there. Peace to each of you in this time of loss.
