Ruby Nell Henderson Lewis, 70, of 40 Smokey Mtn. Dr., Swannanoa, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007. A Buncombe Co. native, she was daughter of the late Thomas and Flora Owenby Henderson. Ms. Lewis attended Gashes Creek Baptist Church before she became ill. Ms. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Pam Bartlett and husband Russell; sister, Ruth Bryan and husband Jack, of Broadway, NC; and brothers, Ray Henderson and wife Shirley, of Weaverville, and Jack Henderson and wife Ruby, of Alexander. Ms. Lewis will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC, 28813.

  2. Please know the family of Ruby Nell are in my thoughts and prayers. My twin sisters, Raye and Faye Dycus, attened Oakley High School with Ruby Nell along with Shirley Griffith, and I have played the piano for Jack to sing. Ruby Nell was a fine Christian lady. God bless you. Sonny Dycus

  3. Dear Pam and family, it is hard to give our loved ones up but know they are no longer in pain and suffering Just one month ago I walked the same pathway saying fsrewell and two years and 35 minutes to my daughter. The pain is
    there but the comfort in knowing we will join them one day gives us comfort. Know all of you are in my prayers daily and I love all of you very much May God bless each of you

  7. Dear Pam & Family, You probably will not know us, but we went to church for years with Ruby and we became good friends. She used to phone me up, just to talk, and I wanted you to know she was a wonderful person, even though she had a ‘hard’ life, she was always a great Christian and friend.
