Ruby Louise Youngblood Baker, 84, of Fletcher, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Geneve Estell Hudson Youngblood and Howard James Youngblood. She was also preceded in death by four brothers-in-law, Marvin Holden, Ronald Baker, Larry Conard and Walter Dockins.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry Eugene Baker Sr.; three children, Larry Eugene Baker Jr. (Belinda), Rick Baker (Regina) and Serita Garren; one sister, Freida Holden; six grandchildren, Brandon Baker, Brittany Baker, Trina Baker, Addison Baker, Katie Womack (Cameron) and Madisen Gentry; seven great-grandchildren, Sadie, Delilah, Charlotte, Riley, Lexington, Hudson and Harrison and many extended family and friends.

Ruby worked for many years as a manager of Henn’s Plant Farm. She was a longtime and faithful member of Hoopers Creek Baptist Church, where she served for many years as the Vacation Bible School co-director, the assistant director of the annual Christmas play, Ladies Bible Class secretary/treasurer and a vital and beloved member of the church’s Sunday School. Ruby loved flowers, camping and traveling, but above all else, loved spending time with her family.

A Funeral Service will be held starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10 at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church. Her family will greet friends at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 11 at Hoopers Creek Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated.

We knew Ruby mainly from Henns Plant farm as Donna, Pam and Stacie worked with her throughout the years. Her friendship, leadership and love of our Lord showed everyday.
