Ruby Lee Shaft

Mrs. Shaft was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late George and Artie King Brookshire. She was also preceded in death by a son, Allen Shaft in 1994. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a clerk with Ice Service Stores.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty Branton of Leicester, Phyllis McCarson of Candler, Rhonda Miller of Asheville and Erma Chow of Lafayette, IN; one son, Gary Shaft of Asheville; one sister, Lucille Gunter of Asheville; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Carson Moseley officiating.

No formal visitation is scheduled, but friends may call at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
