Rosemary was born in New Martinsville, WV on June 30, 1922. She went to school at Ohio State University and earned a degree in Library Science. She then served as a civilian on various military bases, including Homestead Air force base in Fl, as the head librarian for over 30 years. After retirement, she travelled frequently for pleasure and family research. She researched family history for both the Raney and Oblinger sides of the family. She always said the research was the most exciting part of compiling the family history.
Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.

Rosemary was volunteer librarian for the Southern Highland Craft Guild at the Folk Art Center in the ’80s. A great deal was accomplished during her tenure. She worked hard to bring things ‘up to snuff’. The Guild was pleased to present Rosemary with an Honorary Membership in 1984.
We were proud to know her and will miss her. She continued to support the Guild for years after she was no longer our librarian.
