Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ron was my first college roommate and we lived and worked together all over Austin for several years in our formative years at University of Texas at Austin. We were partners in everything bowling, darts, golf and ultimately waiters a few local restaurants. We roamed 6th Street in search of fun and I ultimately went into the Army and he got married and moved on to Asheville with his lovely wife Patty. I visited his family once many years after when Ron as a manager at PPG and got to see his home and meet his beautiful children. We fell out of touch after that.

I am shocked to learn it’s been over two years since his passing.

Ron lived to have fun, was a gifted speaker and a classically funny guy with a quick wit and endless proverbs. He was at home on the golf course and a closet bowler. Some of my best memories from college were of our Longhorn Thursday night bowling league team antics where we regularly competed at the highest levels behaving like – well – college students!

Stuart, Susan, Tim, Claude, Pam and all the rest would hoist our team flag in honor of Ron – he was a ruthless competitor and jokester.

A great man, husband, father and friend. Someday, God willing, we’ll meet again Ron and throw a few frames and toss some darts again…….Godspeed – In Christ
