Roger Wayne Olup

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle Roger Wayne Olup passed away March 22, 2026. He was born August 15, 1950 to Johnny and Sara Olup.

Roger was a loving father, loyal friend, and never met a person who would be a stranger for long. Roger loved spending time with his family, loving and playing with dogs, fishing, traveling, and playing golf. Roger worked in furniture sales for most of his life and is remembered by customers for his generosity and desire to help others be able to create welcoming and comforting living spaces. Roger is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years Cathy Blackwelder Olup, in 2015. He is Survived by his 3 children, John, Jessica, and Taylor, and 7 grandchildren.

Family and Friends may gather for a celebration of life at Yesterday’s Tree on August 16. Drop in any time between 2 and 5 PM. A small service will take place at 3PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian team is assisting the family.
