Richard Lee “Ricky” Seay, 71, of Candler, passed away on October 1, 2026 at his home, surround by his loving wife, Yolanda, daughter, Tammy, and his buddy “Shadow.”

Richard was born on November 27, 1954, to the late Henry and Velma Seay. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Seay, of Travelers Rest.

Ricky spent most of his life in the mobile home moving business, which he took much pride in. He could also be seen operating a bulldozer, clearing the land for people’s homes. He went on to establish Seay Services in January, 2004. After retiring in 2022, Ricky bought himself a food truck, “Rick’s Burgers & More.” He had a passion for cooking and making sure other people had good food to eat.

Rick was more than a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he was a family man who was devoted to taking care of them. During the holidays, he would always spend many hours in the kitchen cooking up delicious meals, making sure there was plenty to go around.

He married the love of his life, Yolanda Diane Cannon, on April 20, 1979. They shared 50 wonderful years together and raised two children, Jason and Tammy. Ricky is survived by his wife, Yolanda Seay; son, Jason Seay; daughter, Tammy Seay; four grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Lucy and Dustin; and a great-granddaughter, Aspen.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. The graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgeway Baptist Church, Candler.
