Richard Eric Davis, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026.
He was the son of the late Robert Edward Davis and Elva Presnell Davis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Kate Davis.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Charles Robert Davis (Lois) and John Edward Davis; and his sisters, Joyce Smith (Willie), Annette Johnson (Ken), Rebecca Brigman, and Rhonda Kirkland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

Rick was a good friend. He was always there, always ready, always smiling and looking on the good side of life. I will miss him greatly.

Rick worked for us for about 10 years. He loved landscaping and rock wall building, but was always willing to help us with other projects as well. He was as strong as a bull, carrying and placing large boulders in our yard. He taught me a lot about plants and always gave the best advice – things he said he had learned from his grandmother. Rick had a big heart which showed in the care he gave to the elderly in need. He attended our wedding in 2017 and frequently joined us at music events. Rick also loved dogs, and we trusted him to both house sit and pet sit for We will miss him dearly. -
