Richard "Dick" Allen Berlage

Richard (Dick) Allen Berlage, 86, of Asheville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. He was born on November 12, 1939, in Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Irma Berlage, and his loving wife of 63 years, Lauraine Berlage. Dick leaves behind their three sons: Richard Berlage (Asheville), Kevin Berlage (Old Fort), and Allen Berlage (Asheville). Six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest love was his family. He had a passion for golf, football, and motorcycles, riding his Harley up though 80+ years of age, and cherished each and every one of the family gatherings. He will always be loved and respected by his family and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Groce Funeral Home at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026, with The Rev. MSGR. Roger Arnsparger of the Basilica of St. Lawrence officiating. Family will be greeting friends starting at 11:30 A.M. that same day. Inurnment of cremated remains will take place at the Western Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.
