Nola Phyllis Watson, 81, formerly of Grandview Rd., Asheville, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge.
A native of Jackson Co., she was a daughter of the late Ransom and Mamie Deitz. She was married for 54 years to Cecil Watson, who died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her special child, June Ann Watson; and her brothers and sisters: Clifford Deitz, Medford Deitz, Ottis Deitz, Wiener Deitz, Grady Deitz, Elizabeth Barber, Jerleen Deitz, and Hester Suttle.
Nola Phyllis was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered with much love by many because of her warm, happy personality. Her philosophy was that there was no point in worrying about your troubles, but you should look for the good and “try to have a little fun in life.”
She is survived by her sister, Brittie Buchanan; sister-in-law, Mae Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Donald Price officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
