Pauline Gallamore Meece Crum, 87, of 178 South Morgan Branch Road, Candler, died Monday, January 18, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Crum was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William M. and Hilda Jones Gallamore. She was married to Harry Lee Meece who died in 1966 and to Jack Crum, who died in 1987. She was a retired dietician and was a member and past senior vice-president of the VFW Post 891. She was also a member of the American Legion and of Riverside Baptist Church and was a former volunteer at the VA Medical Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Boyd of Libertyville, IL; a son, Harry Lee Meece, Jr., of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a number of step-great- grandchildren and a number of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roland Owenby officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
