Patricia “Patti” Louise Hamlin, 85, born in Asheville, NC on July 17, 1940, passed away peacefully in her home on April 20, 2026, in Candler, NC.

She fought a courageous battle with lung cancer and won; however, she lost her courageous battle with Vascular Dementia.

“Patti” grew up in the local area of Enka Candler, graduating from Enka High School in 1958. She also attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC for a year.

In her childhood, “Patti” worked with her dad and mom (Leslie Davis and Elizabeth Davis) along with brother, Richard “Dick” Davis, on their family’s dairy farm, South View Dairy. Patti and Dick would rise early to help their parents in the barn and deliver milk to the surrounding community including the West Asheville area before heading off to school.

She was active in the 4H Club showing the farm’s Holstein cattle, where she won several blue and red ribbons.

Later, in the spring of 1973, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Neal Hamlin. Together the two raised a beautiful family while enjoying many fun activities including running the family farm, going on beach vacations, fishing and camping at Lake Jocassee, gardening, and woodworking.

At age 50, “Patti” proudly earned her CDL and joined her husband in the trucking business. Together they founded K&P Express and for 18 years they traveled and enjoyed each other’s company, along with their loyal dog Shane.

Patti leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth Hamlin; daughter, Leslie Poe and her husband, Tim; grandson, Todd Hamlin; granddaughter, Natalie Warren and her husband, Laron; six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Shelbi, Connor, Brooklynn, TJ, and Ayden; two great-great grandchildren; a niece, Dana Kenney of Suwannee, GA and
