Pamela Susan Farmer

Beloved sister, aunt, and friend Pamela Susan Farmer passed away in Asheville on June 25, 2026, following a brief illness. She was a ray of light to those around her, a lively storyteller and family historian, creative collector of antiques, compassionate friend, lover of cats, Christmas enthusiast, and devoted follower of Christ.

Born July 3, 1956, as the only daughter of Dr. Woodard and Carolyn Farmer, Pam grew up in Biltmore Forest with two rowdy brothers and a mischievous streak of her own. As a child, Pam had a great imagination and loved playing with dolls and drawing. She also enjoyed being outside and spending time with her friends. Pamela graduated from Kent Hill School in Maine and went on to study at Johnson State College in Vermont.

Always a lover of American craft and antiques, as well as colorful holiday collectibles, she came into her own as proprietor of the Mole Hole in Biltmore Square Mall. With an eye for artistry, a great passion for beauty, and a heart for whimsy, Pam elevated the world of creative gifting and had a joyful time doing so.

Pam was adored by her many friends. She was a delightful conversationalist, a patient and supportive listener, and a generous source of encouragement and inspiration. In recent decades, Pam’s faith in Jesus became increasingly important to her, as was sharing that faith with others. She was dedicated to Bible study at Biltmore Church in Arden, was baptized later in life, and became a proud “prayer warrior,” all while retaining her sense of humor and inclusive spirit to love absolutely everyone around her.

Pam was greatly loved by her family and is survived by her brother, Mark Farmer and his family (wife Denise, children Jeff and his wife Valerie, Rebecca and her husband Stephen, and Michael) of Charlotte; Mickey Farmer of Asheville (and her kids, Christopher and his husband George, Jennifer and her husband Dan, and Ellen), and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Woodard E. Farmer and Carolyn Farmer, and her older brother, Woody Farmer.

The Farmer Family would like to thank Pam’s close friends, especially Kim Rollins, for the loving care and companionship they provided. Pam will be interred in the columbarium of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Asheville. There will be a memorial service at St. Mary’s starting at 11:30 AM on August 8, 2026, and a reception to follow starting at 1:30 PM at 27 Park Road, Pam’s childhood home.
