Oma β€œLucille” Bailey, 90, of Leicester, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Lucille was born on April 22, 1936, in Haywood Co., to the late William Thomas and Mary Bryant Justice. Lucille was a resident of Leicester for most of her life. She worked for Snelson dairy farm, always referring to the farm as her one true home. She was a longtime member of Georgetown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Bailey; son, Louie Bailey; daughter, Linda Mashburn; brother, June Justice; and sisters, Lula Franklin and Maryetta Clubb.

She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Trimnal (Larry), of Leicester, Christine Bryant (Philip), of Asheville, Mary Lou Bailey, of Leicester, and Brenda Parham (Edward), of Leicester; brothers, Allen and Jake Justice; grandchildren, Mitchell Trimnal, Daniel Trimnal, Matthew Parham, Candie Cooper, and Cameron Bryant; great-grandchildren, Lexie, Aubrey, Kenneth, Hailey, and Kaylynn; and a very special niece, Mary Jane Mathis.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jacob Ellege, Georgetown Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will then take place at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the West Buncombe Fire Department, 549 Old County Home Rd., Asheville, NC 28806, or to Meals on Wheels, 146 Victoria Rd., Asheville, NC 28801.
