Nellie Morris Austin

A native of Monroe, NC, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Alice Harp Morris and the wife of the late Frank H. Austin Jr. Mrs. Austin was a member of First Baptist Church of Asheville for five decades and taught elementary Sunday school for forty-four years. She was also a longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by a brother, W. Frank Morris of Greensboro; a sister, Alice Kate Bivens of Charlotte; a son, Frank H. Austin of Asheville; a
granddaughter, Elisabeth F. Austin of Williston, VT.; 17 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm
Monday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends following the service. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Old Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Nellie Morris Austin.
