In celebration of the vibrant and compassionate life of Nancy Schloicka, we honor her journey through a life filled with love, dedication and service. Born on June 11, 1949, in Fords, NJ, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Betty Cardini and Frank Tarr. Her life was a testament to the values instilled by her beloved parents.
Nancy’s early years in Fords were marked by a keen sense of curiosity and a deep commitment to her family. She graduated from John F. Kennedy Memorial High School on June 21, 1967, and went on to pursue a career in nursing, a field in which her compassion and dedication truly shone. Nancy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Charles G. Gregory School of Nursing, becoming a registered nurse. Her career as a public health visiting nurse was defined by her tireless dedication to those in need, impacting countless lives with her care and empathy.
On February 28, 1970, Nancy married the love of her life, George Schloicka. Together, they built a life centered around love, family and faith. Although George has since passed, the legacy of their union lives on through their son and grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Schloicka and his wife, Tonya; her treasured grandchildren, Martin Robach, Amber Phillips, and Lisa Dobrovolny; and her seven great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
A devoted sister to David Tarr, Nancy’s familial bonds were the cornerstone of her existence. Her role as a mother and grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and was an exemplary model of unconditional love and support for her family.
Nancy’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Fairview, NC, where her faith and fellowship provided her with strength and community.
Those who knew Nancy remember her as a devoted wife, an excellent mother, and a friend to all who crossed her path. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met, and her legacy of love will be cherished forever.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests that donations be made in Nancy’s honor to the Dementia Society of America, an organization that holds special significance to her and her family.
As we reflect on Nancy Schloicka’s life, we celebrate a woman whose love, faith and unwavering dedication to her family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
