Mildred Ann Marek
Asheville – In memory of my loving sister, Mildred Ann Marek, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 12, 2007, at the age of 88.
She was born February 26, 1919, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of the late Annabelle Marie and Carl Warren Lovelace.
She was the beloved wife of Elmer H. Marek for 59 years. Her husband, who was also of Deerfield, passed on in October of the year, 2000. They had a daughter, Judith Marie Truex and grandson, Mark Bowersox of Ohio, both deceased. She has also been preceded by family members, brother, Carl William and sister, Fern Liegh Lovelace.
Mildred is survived by her brother, Don W., and his wife Patricia Lovelace, three nieces, Sharon Johnson, Sandra Townsley and Dona-Gail Byrne. Also surviving are four nephews, David, Jeffery, Mark and Jon Lovelace and many grand nieces and nephews.
This precious lady applied the education she received from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio as a psychologist, administering to families in crisis. This experience encouraged her to enhance her effectiveness by continuing her education, obtaining multiple pertinent degrees/certifications in various disciplines, to aid her in performing this lifelong effort, to the best of her ability.
A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date in the St. Giles Chapel at the Deerfield Retirement Community.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Giles Chapel, 1617 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803.

Aunt Mim was a wonderful aunt. I wish that I knew her better. I am so grateful that I visited Mim and uncle Elmer in the late nineties.
Around ten years ago I had the chance to visit with Aunt Mildred when she and Uncle Elmer came to visit during one early summer weekend. She and I walked around the back yard talking about how pretty the blooming apple trees looked. She was a delightful person to know. Elmer and my dad spent many hours talking about the past.
