Mary Tomberlin Brown

Mary “Deanie” Tomberlin Brown, 83, of 20 Alpine Way, Asheville, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Hershel and Nola Bell Tomberlin and was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leroy Brown, who died in 2003. She was a member of Groce United Methodist Church for 35 years where she served in the choir. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Brown and his wife Debra of Asheville; one grandson, Dennis Brown; two step-grandsons, Colby and Caleb Davis and a nephew, Tommy Galloway. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at Groce United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Friday at the church prior to the service. Absence of body unto the presence of the Lord.
