Mary Irene Murphy

Mary Irene Murphy, 85, of Asheville, NC passed away at home while in hospice care on June 29, 2026.

She was born in Mt. Victoria, MD to John and Nettie Murphy on August 3, 1940.

Mary loved nature, and went on many trips with her daughter. She was an expert at crosswords and enjoyed Bluegrass music.

She was the beloved mother to Beth, Brian and his wife, Yna, grandchildren, Matt and Dylan, and Suzy the cat. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carl Robert Logan.

The family will have a simple private ceremony.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
