Mary Etta Stanley Swayngim, 89, of Bear Creek Road, Asheville, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Hospice Solace Center.
She was a daughter of the late William and Lena Beasley Stanley. She worked as an LPN and she was a member of West Asheville Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Swayngim and her second husband, William Swayngim; two grandchildren, Debbie and Brian; a brother, Arthur Stanley; and a sister, Ethel Smith.
Surviving are a son, Robert Swayngim (Betty); two daughters, Betty Cutshall (Rankin) and Ann Reece (Vance); two brothers, A.B. Stanley (Margie) and William Stanley (Gerry); a sister, Annie Jo Smith; a sister-in-law Kathleen Stanley; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Roger Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

AWWWWW Nanny you finally made it. You are so loved and even though my heart is broken today I rejoice in the fact that you are shouting with the angels and all of our loved ones. For all you gave me along the way thank you thank you thank you. You are the greatest Nanny ever.
