Martha Stewart Humphries, 92, of Asheville, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare.
Mrs. Humphries was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William and Mary Tobitha Jones Stewart. She was married to the late Wolford B. Humphries and was retired from the Grove Park Inn.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Humphries of Asheville; a niece Gale Stewart Moody of Asheville; two great-nieces Cheryl Moody and Darlene Robinson; one great-nephew Stuart Moody, and six great-great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Mr. Jack Wheeler officiating.

I will miss the sweet and caring nature of a woman that used to help take care of me. She had a laugh and smile that would light up a room. I knew her as Aunt Martha. Her memory will never fade from my heart.
