Margaret M. Houser

Mrs. Houser was born in Clarksdale, MS, and was a daughter of the late William E. and Emma C.. Stoy Mercer.  She ws a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women and was a former Asheville school teacher.  She was a member of the Thursday Literary Club and of Tunnel Road Presbyerian Church.  She was married to Earl R. Houser, former owner and operator of Pack Square Pharmacy, who died in 1974.

She is survived by her son, William A. Houser, and his wife, Sallie, of Clyde;  a sister, Catherine Tomlinson of Atlanta;  and a niece, Charlsie Joye of Atlanta.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, Fletcher, with the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating.

Mrs. Houser will remain at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue until the service hour.
