Fletcher – Viola Mae Eller Dotson, 86, of Cane Creek Road, died Monday, October 10, 2011.
A native of McDowell County, Mae was daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Eller and Cora Lee Suttlemeyer Eller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Biss Dotson, who died this past June, and they would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary in August. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Susie Hall, Clara Allison and George Eller and by a great granddaughter, Elyssa Roman. She worked with Northwestern Bank with twenty-five years of service and was active with the Buncombe County Board of Elections. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was active in the choir.
Mae is survived by three daughters, Teresa D. Decker and husband, Kent, of Clyde, Celia D. Nesbitt and husband, Tony, of Fletcher and Sallie D. Bellows and husband, Bill, of Summerfield, NC. Also surviving is a sister, Margaret Sanders of Old Fort and 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow at Tweeds Chapel Cemetery. The Reverends Tommy Wilkes and James Hefner will officiate. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service at the church.

Sister’ you’ve finished your life.
Mom said she didn’t know why the family all called her by that name.
Somehow it just came naturally.
I miss them all, but thank goodness I had her and her family to create all the memories I cherish so much today.
