Lura Lavada Haney, 91, formerly of Candler, died Monday, January 25, 2010, in Gettysburg, PA.
Mrs. Haney was born in Pelzer, SC and was a daughter of the late Dallas and Tryphena H. Brown. She was married to the late Frazier John Haney and was also preceded in death by a son, Monroe Haney, a daughter, Margaret Ann Waldron, and 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by four daughters, Joan Howard of Candler, and Mary Chapman, Lois Shorb and Deborah Cruz, all of Gettysburg; a son, Calvin Haney and his wife Frances of Candler; 26 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Eldridge Moses Officiating. Burial will follow at Browns View United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
