Lucile Cook Wever

Mrs. Wever was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William Price and Elsie Blackwell Cook. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Fendley, who died in 1968.
She was educated in the Asheville City School System, a graduate of Wingate College, and was a former secretary/receptionist for Dr. Donald Volmer. She had been a volunteer at Orthopedic Hospital (now Thoms Rehabilitation Center), the American Red Cross, and with the mentally retarded.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Lee Wever; two step-daughters, Marilyn Lewis of Clearwater, FL and Donrue White of Treasure Island, FL; three step-sons, M.L. Wever, Jr. of Reno, Nev., Gary Wever of San Francisco, CA, and Byron D. Wever of Washington state; one brother, W.J. Cook of Otto, NC; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday at Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church, 880 Aiken Road, with the Rev. Tony Reggi officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:00 am Friday at the church.
