Louise Radcliff King, 78, of Leicester, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 29, 2006, after a courageous battle with a long illness.
Louise was born June 1, 1928, in Buncombe County where she had lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late Murray and Dessie Duyck Radcliff, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Don Y. King; brothers, William and Charles Radcliff, and sisters, Nellie Radcliff and Barbara R. Grooms.
Louise enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She took much pleasure from painting oil pictures and playing the organ and piano on occasions. In the past, she enjoyed going to Paynes Chapel where she played the piano with her two daughters.
Surviving are her two daughters, Donna Karan Ragan of Leicester and Carolyn Greene of Brevard; three grandchildren, Mark Kinney of Leicester and Stephen and Timothy Israel of Wyoming; one great-grandchild, Desaree Kinney of Asheville; and brothers, Lamar Radcliff and his wife Clara, James Radcliff and his wife, Esta, and Johnny Radcliff and his wife, Betty, all of Asheville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Paynes Chapel Church with the Revs. Steve Robinson and Charlie Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, and at other times will be at her daughter, Karan's home.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated.
The family would like to thank the Brian Center of Weaverville and Magnolia Health Care Center for caring for our angel. Also, we thank Paynes Chapel Church for all their love, care, and prayers for Louise.
