Lois Frady Chesley, 92, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, in Richmond, VA.

A native of Asheville and graduate of Women’s College in Greensboro, she taught in Asheville City School System for 36 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the National Teachers Organization and the honorary society of Alpha Delta Kappa. She moved to Richmond in 1998 after spending most of her retirement years in Florida.

She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Asheville for thirty years where she was a member of the Bond Class.

She was the widow of the late retired police officer Everett F. Chesley.

Surviving are her brother, Everet Frady of St. Petersburg, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Everett P. and Nell Chesley of Richmond; three grandchildren, Maria and her husband Dr. David Fisk of Ann Arbor, MI, Sara and her husband Donald Kamencik of Richmond, and Stephen Chesley of Atlanta; two great-grandchildren, Noah Kamencik and Ryan Fisk; and a sister-in-law, Lois Frady Steedle.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph L. Reed officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 1 - 2:00 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
