  1. Laura,

She was a wonderful young lady who shared her knowledge of roses with us at the Asheville-Blue Ridge Rose Society. Laura joined the Society in May of 2003. She was a very willing worker at our annual shows at the North Carolina Arboretum these past springs. Laura became a Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society in August of 2005. Laura wrote articles for the Society newsletter and spoke at meetings on several Rose issues. She would make it a point to share her knowledge and understanding of the growing of Roses with both members and guests. She will be missed by all of her friends at the A-BRRS. May the Lord be with her family as we know She is with him.

  2. Thank you, Laura, for sharing yourself with the Asheville Blue Ridge Rose Society the last several years. We have all benefitted from your knowledge and been uplifted by your spirit. Your life has been a blessing.

  3. I may be so far away, but my heart and my prayers are right there with you. Barbara, we are here for you. Laurie meant a lot to all of us and will be truly missed. I am so proud to say that she is my cousin.

    With much love,
    Brenda

  4. I’ve known Laura as an eye patient for many years, and as a friend for
a little over one year. We chatted over lunch at The Biltmore Estate a handful of times, and she’d give me guided tours of the rose garden. We kept in touch mostly by email, sharing laughter and sorrows. Her presence in my life was a true blessing. I will miss her greatly.

  5. To Laura’s family and friends,
Laura will be missed by the members of the Asheville-Blue Ridge Rose Society. She posessed a beautiful positive outlook on life, and we all benefited from being around someone who radiated sunshine in her life. We always enjoyed watching her prune, and prune, and prune a rose until she felt it was ready to produce its best flowers.
Laura, look down on us kindly as our prayers are with you, your family, and friends.
    Ken and Peggie
    Winston-Salem

  6. We met Laura when she came to Weaverville Presbyterian. We only heard of her passing today. Our
thoughts and prays are with all of
    you at this time.

  7. I met Laura when she was 28 and came to work at Big Cypress Service Company. We used to go out and collect water samples together, and then finish up at an ice cream parlor. It was the most fun we had at work. Its so hard to believe she is gone. I am glad I stopped by and saw her in July. I miss her greatly.
