Kenneth S. Camby, 85, of Fairview, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Kenneth was born on November 9, 1940, to the late Wilbur Morgan and Lydia Jane Hollifield Camby. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pilar Camby; sisters; Jo Carolyn Williams and Ava Lou Bass; and brother, Calvin Camby.

Kenneth proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, eventually retiring from the U.S. Air Force with 25 years of service. He then worked as a child support enforcement investigator for Buncombe Co. in the late 80s and early 90s. A lifetime sportsman, he loved camping and hunting. He also very much enjoyed cooking for others and was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fairview.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Camby Harding (Rev. Joe Harding, Jr.); grandsons, Bennette and Bryson Harding; and sister, Billie Gibbons.

His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by his son-in-law, the Rev. Joe Harding, Jr., and Pastor Mike Reeves. Burial will then take place in the church cemetery.
