Kathleen Fewell Hogue, 98, of Asheville, died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at Brooks-Howell Home. A daughter of the late James Edward and Rosa Youngblood Fewell, she had lived in Rock Hill, SC and the surrounding area all of her life and for 10 years had resided in the Westminster Towers, a retirement home in Rock Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Smith Hogue. Mrs. Hogue moved to Asheville three and one half years ago to live with her daughter Helen Hogue Dabney and husband Thomas F. Dabney, Jr. of Rolling View Drive. A faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, she was a former member of the Ann White Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy and a long-time volunteer at the York County Hospital in Rock Hill. She also served for many years as a weekly pianist at the former Ann’s Nursing Home. In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by three grandchildren, Susan Dabney Creighton of Columbia, SC, J. Randolph Dabney, Sr. and his wife Judy of Greer, SC and Thomas F. Dabney, III and his wife Rhonda of Chesterfield, VA; five great-grandsons, Walter R. Creighton, III of Fairfax, VA, John R. Dabney, Jr. and Matthew H. Dabney of Greer, SC, Justin M. Dabney and T. Alexander Dabney of Chesterfield, VA. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill, SC. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, SC.
