Juanita Edmonds Greene

Juanita Edmonds Greene, 86, of 30 Knob Hill Road, Asheville, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Greene was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late A.C. and Daisy Gentry Edmonds. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph “Lee” Greene; two daughters, Creola Smith and her husband, Ed, of Asheville, and Susie Barkley and her husband, Paul, of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Freddie Barkley and Kurt Barkley of Taylorsville, Ruth Metheny of Hendersonville, Rachel Taylor of Cherokee, and Wendy Smith of Jonesville, SC; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Thad Dowdle officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
