Asheville – Josephine K. Rash, 84, beloved wife for 62 years of Maloy R. Rash, Jr., passed away Thursday, February 15, 2007, at her residence in the Crowfield Community.
A native of Manitoba, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Annie Kozy Kowalski. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Rash Holcombe in 1995.
Josephine was an amazing woman full of love and kindness. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed civic, charitable and social events in the towns she and Maloy had lived over the years, including Spartanburg, SC; Orlando, FL; Greenville, SC; Jacksonville, FL; Charlotte, NC and for the past 26 years in Asheville. Decorating her many homes, growing flower gardens around them and playing bridge with her friends gave her great pleasure. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband Maloy, Josephine is survived by a granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Dennis, her husband Mark and a great granddaughter Lindsay Dennis, of Greenville, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Blackburn and the Rev. Robert Ralls.
The family will receive friends following the service.
