Joseph Michael Grey Linville, born on April 26, 1982, and passed away on October 26, 2026, was a true adventurer with an unwavering passion for nature. From a young age, he was captivated by the natural world and developed a remarkable talent for climbing. At just three years old, he reached the very top of the oak tree in his front yard, proving that he was a at such a young age he showed how fearless he was. If it was challenging, he wanted to exceed all expectations and go above and beyond to be the best.

Joe love for adventure extended beyond climbing. He embraced various sports, including skateboarding and snowboarding, and continuously sought new experiences. His deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the region was evident in his every action and adventure.

His exceptional climbing abilities and technical precision quickly set him apart in the field, leading to his reputation as one of the region’s most skilled contract climbers—a position that brought him into Grizzly Bear’s orbit as a valued collaborator for several years.

In early 2022, Joe elevated his relationship with Grizzly Bear by accepting the full-time Project Manager position.
