John O. Kerr
August 12, 1917 ~ March 23, 1999
Mr. Kerr was a native of Houston, OH, was the son of the late Orville and Mary Guin Kerr, and husband of the late Maxine Riffe Kerr, who died in 1984.
Mr. Kerr was a retired Postmaster with the Swannanoa Post Office and a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He was an Army-Air Corps veteran of WW II, serving in Italy and France, and was a member of the John A. Nichols Lodge, A.F. & A.M., and the 455th Bomber Group Assn.
He is survived by his son, Larry S. Kerr of Greensboro, and three nieces, Susanna Howle, nancy Worley, and Doris Dean Bender.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Lolley officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
