Asheville ~ Jesse Evan Tegethoff, 95, of Asheville died at the Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community on December 5, 2007 with his wife at his side. Mr. Tegethoff was born on November 27, 1912 to the late J. E. and Mamie Bechtel Tegethoff of De Witt Arkansas. He used what he learned at Cooper Union to establish a full and rich career in science and engineering. Continuously employed from Nov 25, 1931 until retirement on Oct 1, 1974 from messenger, to office boy, to lab tech, to Quality Control Manager in the process control field (He worked for Bridgeport Machine.) His retirement was spent in continuing voluntary service to the community; house engineer to Hendersonville Little Theater, 7 years; electrical design of Opportunity House which earned him their Hall of Fame Award; member of the Board of Trustees (Opportunity House); volunteer of many projects at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community. He is survived by his bride of 11 months Margaret Bowers Gill Tegethoff; one son, Jon Evan Tegethoff and his wife Mary Anne; three grandchildren, Diane, Jon Evan Jr. and his wife Julie, and Kevin and his wife Denice and three great grand children, Brendan, Katie and Michael. A memorial service will be held in St. Giles Chapel of Deerfield on a date in 2008 to be announced.
