My deepest sympathies to Jere’s family. I met Jere at my uncle’s campsite in Cade’s Cove some 45 years ago, when her family and mine were both visiting. I knew her later as a classmate at Bearden High School. She was quiet, unassuming, and adorable.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you during the difficult time.

Tom and Ashley,
My prayers are with you now and in the days to come. Jere’ was so special to me, as she was to many of the patients at the Health Dept. in Sylva. She was always thinking about others. Tom-I loved hearing about and seeing all the ‘Tom and Jerry’ memorabilia and seeing the way she lit up when she said your name. Ashley – there has never been a more proud mother…she loved showing off the pictures the two of you had made together at your wedding and she and Tom’s wedding. You two have lost a very special wife, mother, and best friend. I am so sorry for this great loss.
Tom and family:
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Jere was very special to me. I always enjoyed her positive energy here at work. She always shared her photography with me and the wonderful chili you guys made for the chili cook-offs. I will remember you in the days and weeks to come. Sincerely, Jennifer Luker
I am thinking and praying for your family at this difficult time.
