Arden - James C. “Charlie” Reid, 85, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Robert Monteath Reid and Meta Frenche Johnston. He was a retired employee of American Enka Corp. with 42 years service.
He is survived by his wife, Eva B. Reid of Arden; two sons, David Reid of Arden and Edward Reid of Leicester, one sister, Frenche Kimzey of Brevard, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 pm Monday at Avery’s Creek Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Brenda Newman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
We will miss seeing Charlie walking around his farm. He was always so friendly and fun to talk with when we met him on the road. No one can take Charlie’s place.
