Fletcher-James Arthur Boudreau, 89, of Fletcher passed away on Friday March 27,2026 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.

A native of Escanaba, MI, he was a son of the late John and Jane Boudreau. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene Smith Boudreau as well as two brothers, Peter and William Boudreau.

After spending his childhood and young adult years in Adrian, MI, graduating from Adrian High School, serving in the military, employed by Stubnitz-Greene Spring Corp. in Adrian and Revco Inc. of Deerfield MI, he then moved to the Columbia, SC, area in 1968 with Revco. He moved again in 1981 with Revco to the Asheville area where the company grew through a series of acquisitions and new ownership changes. The company is now known as Thermo Fisher Scientific. He retired as a design engineer in 1998 after 36 years with the company.

James was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in the yard, a wide variety of outdoor activities and most major sports. He remained active playing golf in his later years.

He is survived by his sister Lucile Ann and her husband Thomas Pairolero of Gladstone, MI as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

  1. I had the privilege of working with Jim and Irene at Revco. Jim was a very competent engineer. However, he was and still is the finest gentleman I have ever been around in the workplace. He treated all of his coworkers with the highest respect- even when they may not have necessarily have earned it.
